About
Meet Teegan Mauer
Teegan Mauer is an East London local whose practice is guided by a genuine commitment to the community she calls home. She began her professional training in the Western Cape, earning her Bachelor of Speech-Language and Hearing Therapy at Stellenbosch University. Following her studies, Teegan completed her community service at Kalafong Provincial Tertiary Hospital. Her time in the public sector provided an invaluable foundation, fostering a deep socio-economic and cultural awareness along with a practical understanding of the diverse needs within the South African healthcare landscape.
Teegan’s clinical background is a thoughtful blend of the fast-paced intensity of government hospitals and the dedicated, one-on-one nature of private practice. Having worked across a vast range of environments—including specialized ICUs, rehabilitation centres, schools, and clinics—she has developed a profound appreciation for meeting patients and families exactly where they are. Whether she is in a therapy room or conducting a home visit, Teegan remains a firm believer in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure truly holistic care.
For Teegan, supporting patients through rehabilitation and specialized feeding remains one of the most humbling aspects of her career; it is a role that requires not only clinical precision but a steady, compassionate presence. She prioritizes patient-specific care, believing that the most meaningful progress occurs when therapy is integrated into a family’s daily life and respects their unique cultural context.
Beyond the clinic, Teegan is a social and empathetic individual who values life’s restorative moments. She finds her balance in the outdoors, whether it is a quiet morning at the beach or an adventure on a warm summer day. She brings this same patience and warmth to her practice, offering an inviting, grounded space for her clients. Teegan views herself as a dedicated partner to families, helping them navigate their challenges with quiet optimism and mutual respect. Because at the heart of connection, it is always more than words.
